Takeover Shambles Over

Coventry City supporters hopes of being free of SISU are over.

The story so far....

SISU and Gary Hoffmann meet for takeover talks. SISU say Hoffmann failed to bring the investors to the meeting. Hoffmann says he did. Apparently he did. Hoffmann emails a bid to take over to the club, with a formal bid - on headed note paper! - to be sent to the club the next day. The next morning SISU report that no bid has been received, though it turns out this is because the Ricoh is last on the postmans run, and turns up around mid-day. SISU say they wanted 'transparency of investors' identities' - slightly ridiculous, as it was years before Coventry City supporters knew who SISU were. Said investors did not want to be named before any takeover, but their identities were leaked to the tabloid press, and they pulled the plug on any takeover. SISU remain in charge of Coventry City. Expect anybody worth anything to be sold before the transfer window closes next week.

It's a great time to be a Coventry CIty fan....
