Coventry Throw Away Two Points (One)

A Lucas Jutkiewicz penalty miss in injury time, hit so far over the bar the ball hasn't been found yet, cost Coventry City a much needed victory.

The attendance figure continued its plummet, with just over 12,300 bothering to turn up - around half the number needed for the club to break even. Frisking those that did bother outside seems to have upset a few people enough to have them wondering whether to turn up next time....

Bigirimana was 'rested' for this fixture .... or: left out of the sixteen for the crime of not being able to take on and beat Ipswich's team of former Premiership players the previous Monday on his own, with his replacement, Gary McSheffrey, scoring within minutes of the kick-off.

Thoughts of a rout were shot down after ten minutes with Church's equaliser, and Reading then blew the chance to take the lead with Murphy saving Hunt's penalty after twenty minutes (A mix of a poor penalty and a decent save). Christie was booked for the foul on McAnuff which led to the award of said spot kick.

McSheffrey was much improved from his dismal showing versus Ipswich (Bell wasn't particularly), testing the slightly dodgy looking Federici in the Reading goal a few times, while Jutkiewicz was also denied on a couple of occasions, before blowing his big moment.

TEAM: Murphy, Christie, Hussey, Keogh, Cranie, Bell, Clingan, Thomas, McSheffrey, (O’Donovan 87), Jutkiewicz, McDonald (Platt 61). SNU: Dunn, Cameron, Deegan.
