Spurs Win, Onto Thursday

The expected hammering never quite happened, though the game as a contest was over way before the half-time whistle was blown, with Dempsey scoring twice and Bale once.

The Sky blue support was once again out in numbers, with Soccer AM’s ‘Franky’ (A Spurs fan) stating: : “Have to say Coventry City FC best away support I've witnessed at the Lane all season, great Cup Atmosphere!”

At one stage in this fixture the official stat’s said CCFC had 56% of the possession compared to Spurs 44% - I can only presume this included Murphy holding on to the ball after picking it out the back of the net.

Coventry did create a few chances in the second half, with Leon Clarke going close twice, and Edjenguele forcing a quality save out of Friedel. Sadly, the goal scored at Arsenal that created such joy, wasn’t to be repeated at White Hart Lane.

Robins replaced three-quarters of the Coventry midfield in a twenty minute spell in the second half (Between the 50^th and ^70th minute), with one of those substitutes, Thomas, having a late effort ruled out.

Coventry move onto the JPT Trophy with a fixture next Thursday, and a more realistic chance of getting to Wembley the reward. The 5,000 that travelled deserve it.
