Coventry Telegraph Article 4 Season 2015/16

We're ten points, and a massive +21 goal difference, ahead of seventh place - though they do have a game in hand. 

According to some whining opposition fans, our success is mainly down to loan signings (I'm mainly looking in the direction of Walsall supporters). Rubbish. 

Charles-Cook, Ricketts, Stokes, Vincelot, Fleck, O'Brien and a fair few others are 'ours', and have played in the majority of games. Murphy and Armstrong might grab the headlines, but this is (still) a proper team effort.  

Those two were probably available to any decent League One side, with their clubs deciding Coventry City were the best option. They were right! Here's hoping we can loan them next season in the Championship too. 

If it was as easy as two or three decent players being able to carry a team, Aston Villa's scouts would currently be working 25 hours a day! (Loving Joey Barton's comment: 'I’m baffled they even have eight points'!). 

Some of their fans mocked our signing of Joe Cole, saying his 'legs had gone'. Seemingly, their whole team has gone. Hopefully, by the time you read this, JC will be a fully fledged CCFC player. 

Whether he is or not, Villa will continue to be ridiculed by (nearly) all, and Coventry City will be a step closer to THAT fixture next season. 

James 'He's One Of Our Own' Maddison, is attracting interest from top clubs, and, while I could see he has potential, was not quite under-standing where those major league quoted potential transfer fees were coming from (As he's only made 10 full appearances, plus 17 as a substitute). 

Then he came back from injury, and turned potentially one point from six into four from six. Or, as it's also known, half of Aston Villa's tally for the season! 

Next week will see a big test of Coventry City's credentials, and give a proper challenge to our unbeaten home league record, with games against Walsall and Burton. We hammered top-of-the-table (at the time) Gillingham, so there's no reason why that can't be repeated. Twice. 

15,000+ are expected versus Walsall next Tuesday. Here's hoping the players don't freeze, as they seem to do so when said mark is reached! The first half-hour versus Port Vale, in front of a sizeable crowd, was probably as bad as I've seen us play all season. 

Finally, to those who are not aware of such details: "a half-season ticket is £143 for adults, and £110 concessions, for the final 11 games of the season". Buy now, and avoid any potential queuing problems should we have to go up via the play-offs!
