Jimmy Hill - A Celebration

A star studded congregation celebrated the life of Jimmy Hill at Coventry Cathedral, on Friday 12th February.

2,000 people packed into the building, including: Gary Lineker (Taxi stealer), Barry Davies, Trevor Brooking, Roy Hodgson, Alan Hansen, current Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray, and assorted other notable football types, to celebrate the life of the legend that was Jimmy Hill. Bryan Richardson, the man who some would say un-did so much of Jimmy Hill's work, was also in attendance.

Gordon Taylor, Bobby Gould, Greg Dyke, and JH's son Jamie, all addressed the assembled crowd, with the evening finishing with both old and new versions of 'The Sky Blue Song'. John Motson also contributed, rightly stating that Jimmy Hill should have been knighted.

"He was a one off. I don’t think we’ll ever see the likes of Jimmy Hill again" - John Motson.
