A fatal car accident involving Bromsgrove born Jimmy Davis, saw CCFC's opening day fixture cancelled for the second time in a decade.

The excitement for the opening day fixture had reached fever pitch amongst CCFC fans, as the expected following of 1,500 supporters making the journey to Watford looked more than likely to be double that estimate - but a tragic accident involving the on-loan Manchester United youngster saw Watford make a statement that the match was cancelled due to "tragic circumstances beyond our control". Speculation as to exactly why the match had been cancelled reached ridiculous levels on internet message boards, with the final reason being revealed mid-afternoon.

Condolences to the family and friends of Jimmy Davis.
