Local Hostlries Fearing O'Neill Might Move Away

Keith O'Neill finally called time (Words he's allegedly used to hearing all to often) on what some would laughlingly call his CCFC career. Signed at the same time as Lee Hughes, he proved equally as big a disappointment - though at least KO'N has the excuse he didn't even make it onto the pitch....
His contract at CCFC was supposed to run to May 2005, but has thankfully been ended much, much sooner - hopefully without to big a pay-off, as his wages could help bring in some much needed quality to a CCFC side languishing at the wrong end of the table.
He came to Highfield Road, having supposedly turned down offers from Premiership clubs (Their loss was ours too), described as a `gifted and admirably versatile performer' - sadly, we never got to find out....
O'Neill was quoted as saying: `As you can imagine, I feel robbed of my best footballing years, but I have been lucky enough to live out a dream for the last 10' - which begs the question: `Can you even remember the last two?', as you could count his worthwhile minutes on the pitch alongside decent Bon Jovi records - nil! I guess a lot of `the dream' was still being paid phenomenal amounts of money for not very much work....
A club official was (not) quoted as saying: `This doesn't give anybody any more of a chance of staking a first team place, as KO'N's role at the club was merely to keep an extra club doctor in work....'
