Nothing Doing .... Yet!!

The D1 season finished a good few weeks ago, but, as of yet, nobody has been added to the list of potential CCFC heroes for next season. Maybe things will change when Peter Reid gets back from his holidays? (Six months off, back for one game, then away again? Nice work if you can get it!).

Of those players the majority of CCFC supporters want to stay, Warnock MIGHT be staying with us (Probably signing a new contract at Liverpool, then coming back to us on loan for another season), while Gudjonsson MIGHT be negotiating a free transfer to CCFC.

Julian Joachim - who miraculously leapt from the sick bed he had occupied for so long to join in with matches for six months of the season (coinciding with his contract ending) - is more than likely leaving, having not realised that the club has a very small budget as far as wages are concerned (Or anything is concerned, for that matter), and asking for too much.

Everton has re-signed defender Peter Clarke (scuppering CCFC fans hopes of him returning), and Danny Pugh has left Manchester United for Leeds - meaning Reid has missed out on at least one of his summer targets. The holidaying Dion Dublin is still mulling over who to join following his release from Aston Villa.

A succession of other potential targets are listed throughout various newspapers and websites (Including Luke Moore, Kieran Richardson, Dave Brammar, Darren Purse, Thomas Myhre, Mark Bircham), but as of yet, nothing doing. And with Peter Reid soon to be off holidaying (After his current holiday is over) in Portugal (Okay, he's working for a TV company, giving his expert(?) opinion on the proceeding in Euro 2004, but its not like real work is it?!) it could be another month before there's anything worth reporting on....

As for the "Out Door", Mo Konjic has left for Derby, Barry Quinn has gone to Oxford (Where I suspect he is earning slightly less than the £8,000 a week he was said to be on at CCFC!!), and Onandi Lowe has unsurprisingly not been kept on at Highfield Road!! Arphexad and Ward - neither of whom looked particularly bad when playing in goal for CCFC - have been released too, as has the disappointing Dean Gordon. A few youngsters have been shown the door, with Nuneaton Boro looking to sign a few of them.

Eric Black has now been over-looked for both the Hibernian and Aberdeen jobs, while Gordon F. Strachan is one of those rumoured to be taking over at Liverpool.

More news if/when it happens!!
