Coventry's Midlands' Pride Restored!

Two local derbies in twelve days, two contrasting performances! Where the Leicester display brought nothing but complaints and misery, yesterday's performance went some way to correcting the shambles that was the previous display.

A solitary Gary McSheffrey goal was enough to dispose of local rivals Wolves, and, after weathering early pressure from the home side, CCFC created enough chances to have won convincingly - despite some of the rubbish spouted by the commentator on the highlights on `The Championship', and certain sections of the media.

Local radio, having switched from CCFC commentators to "lesser" commentators, repeatedly commented on the disgrace that was Wolves losing to Coventry City, seemingly feeling that such a defeat was akin to Arsenal losing at Highbury to Torquay. Take the orange/old gold blinkers off lads....

The 1,500 travelling CCFC fans outsang the home side throughout (With at least one Wolves fan thanking those responsible for running the club for turning the place into a morgue!), as CCFC enjoyed their first away win since August 28th.

A fairly frantic early start saw Luke Steele injured making a brave save, and the re-called Dele Adebola hitting the post with one effort. Wolves did put the ball in the net just after the 20 minute mark, but the flag had long since been raised to cancel out Cameron's effort.

Cort almost scored for Wolves just before half-time, with McSheffrey doing like-wise for CCFC, hitting the post from a Doyle corner.

Williams missed a decent chance to give CCFC the lead (Please don't say we've already trained his golscoring ability out of him!), after another quality delivery from Doyle's corner, before McSheffrey gave CCFC the lead on the hour.

Having weathered Wolves pressure, never looked like handing over a point or more, with Adie Williams finally delivering one of the clean sheets he promised when he signed for CCFC - though CCFC could have avoided putting their supporters through it for the last few minutes, had they scored any of the chances they created!

With three wins in five games, confidence is slightly higher than it has been recently, though with Crewe having smashed four goals yesterday, their challenge should not be taken lightly next week!
