More Unacceptable Garbage From CCFC

Coventry City - the story recently: total and utter garbage displays, awful results (With very few exceptions), no passion, no heart, no idea. Will the last supporter of Peter Reid please turn the light out and close the door when you leave....
Supposedly no training on Christmas day (While nearly every other club did) as Reid didn't want to travel down from Bolton. Rumours that CCFC were also given the Monday and Wednesday off after almost throwing away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 versus Derby (As I said "rumours") - to those of us that watch AND care about CCFC, more training, rather than less, would seem a far better option....
Last season we lost at home to Sheffield United on Boxing Day, then lost to relegation fodder Bradford on the 28th December - by January 15th we had a new manager (And two days later a 6-1 away win!). Christmas may have come and gone, but belated gifts are always welcome, so here's the wish list: Get lost Peter Reid! Good riddance to the current board! And please take a good 50 per cent of the playing staff with you! Teams must be queueing up to bring their fixture with CCFC forward in case we change the manager and get a clue....
The choice today was simple: spend £27 on travel and a ticket (Plus beer money!) to watch my beloved CCFC, or spend the last day of my better half's holiday with her good self and my daughter - the correct choice was made (The decision was basically made upon hearing the news yesterday that Staunton was coming in for the impressive Giddings). Because of this, I managed to find the `complete season 4 box set of `Frasier' for £6! 500+ minutes of quality TV, rather than 90 minutes of utter dirge, at one of the furthest grounds away from Highfield Road....
Some may accuse me of being disloyal, to those people I say: `B*ll*cks!' As far as I am aware the home side take all the gate money, and I am not willing to give my hard earned money to CCFC's opponents, to then watch my team taken apart by a team most people think we should be beating - not to mention getting home late, and being in a bad mood! As a caller (A CCFC supporter of some 50+ years) said on CWR on the after-match phone-in: `This is the worst side I can remember' - few would disagree....
Other comments included: `Absolutely rubbish!', `Atrocious!', `Disgraceful!', `Embarrassing' - there were a distinct lack of positives .... for `distinct', read nil. There was also a request for Peter Reid to finally start earning his money. And the question posed by the commentator: `The five changes made - did they work?', defied belief....
There seems little point in writing a match report, as there were virtually nil positives to comment on, though Luke Steele, responsible for one clanger, stopped the scoreline reading 6-1 (Which will supporters remember? Three quality saves? Or one b*ll*ck dropped?), while once again McSheffrey ran his knackers off....
Stern John loses more and more of those that should be supporting him with every passing game, while the Peter Reid fan club must be competing with the Doug Ellis fan club for the 8' x 6' shed at the bottom of my garden to hold their appreciation society meeting in. As I write this, I cannot stop my head shaking from side-to-side in disbelief at just how poor CCFC are....
Adebola scored his second goal of the season, and once again CCFC went on to concede twice after this momentous event - maybe he should just supply! Not that many others look like getting on the score sheet....
Reid's after match phone-in continued in much the same vein as the last four months: `We got out-physicalled' (This is mostly the squad you signed!), `We haven't given the supporters value for money' (I'm sure you yourself are paid enough each week to reimburse those that paid out their HARD earned cash), `Blah! Blah! Blah!' - change the bloody record Reid, or change the bloody manager McGinnity.
Reid keeps mentioning having to `shuffle his squad' over the Christmas period. Let's cut the cr*p - it's time to shuffle the management! Let's shuffle Reid out of the door marked `Exit', and somebody/nearly anybody else in....
Supporters repeatedly ask: `But who would we bring in if Reid goes?' When the job at Wycombe became available, 60 people applied. Those 60 might not have had the credentials Reid supposedly has/had (I don't know what they are either - answers on a postcard), but a new manager would surely bring new ideas (Some ideas!!).
Sadly, if Reid stays, these poor results might see a return to 4-5-1, as 4-4-2 has now stopped working (If it ever really did) - so be warned, things can still get worse. If John is the `1', 0-0 is as good as we can hope for - though with our defenders in the form they are in at the moment, that looks as likely as Camilla Parker-Bowles winning Miss World....
If Reid won't go, a few things have to change. Reid has to stop making crap excuses about the squad - we are better than the teams we are losing to. Reid has to stop making crap excuses about the amount of games coming up - it is the same for all. Reid has to stop making excuses about the lack of cash - the majority of Championship sides are broke. Reid has to stop playing players out of position - it is clearly not working.
Black's last game was away to Gillingham - winning 5-2 still got him fired. My fingers are crossed that another P45 will be in the post tomorrow - Reid doesn't need the money, and CCFC don't need Peter Reid.
With Rotherham away on January 1st and Leeds at home on January 3rd, a minimum of three points is essential, else Reid HAS to walk....
This story might be updated later - after I've found out the rules on swearing on the sportnetwork site. It's not big, it's not clever, but, then again, neither are the team I support....
