Barnard Wants Out From Relegated Grimsby

Grimsby Town and Wales left back, Darren Barnard is understood to want to leave Blundell Park as a result of the club's relegation to the Third Division. While Barnard does not play many games for Wales nowadays, he has been a consistent squad member and will be keen to hold onto that status.

Barnard, 32, last played for Wales in the play-off matches against Russia in November last year.

However with the emergence of Leicester left back Ben Thatcher's Welsh blood, Barnard will find it difficult to reclaim his position.

Barnard joined Grimsby at the beginning of the 2002-03 season when they were a First Division club but two successive relegations has forced the 22 cap player to reconsider his position at the club according to BBC Radio Humberside.
