Speculation has grown that Cardiff City and Wales striker Robert Earnshaw will join Premiership Charlton has increased, after a Welsh punter tried to place a bet on the 23-year-old moving to the Valley next week.

An enquiry has been made to South Wales bookmakers Jack Brown from a customer who was 'adamant' that Earnshaw would move to the Valley as early as Monday for £4m, the Western Mail reports.

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley has expressed his interest in taking 'Earnie' to the Premiership club in the past, while hinting that there was a possibility of a summer move.

Just recently, Birmingham Manager, Steve Bruce said that the Blues would have tried to sign Earnshaw had England striker Emile Hesky not signed.

Earnshaw's agent told the Western Mail: "I know they (Charlton) are one of a number of clubs purportedly interested in him."
