An away draw sees Rams get a point

Debutant's make a difference as the Rams gain their first point of the season against Gillingham. Defender Michael Johnson and striker Lee Bradbury have impressive debuts for the Rams.

A far better performance from the Rams saw them return from Gillingham with their first point of the season.

In itself not a great result for Derby County after their 3-0 defeat last week but this away draw could be the start of a Rams revival.

Ex Birmingham defender Johnson was a steadying influence at the heart of the Rams defence.Bradbury on a months loan from Portsmouth also showed his worth in the Rams attack.

The crowd was not large but 7,850 witnessed a point a piece. Derby County had three players booked in the match, Johnson, Taylor and Huddlestone seeing the yellow card.

The Rams now have a week to show their own fans that the opening day performance was only a glitch and not what they can expect for the remainder of the season.
