Pressure grows on Blackwell - Leeds 0 Sunderland 3

Sunderland increased the pressure on under fire Leeds manager Kevin blackwell with a resounding 3-0 victory. In a totally one sided match, Leeds offered nothing going forward and were woeful at the back.

This was by far and away the worst performance of the season by Leeds. Despite recent bad results, the performances have been on the whole part, good. That, however changed this evening. It was no suprise when sunderland took the lead, and no real suprise that it was ex United loanee Liam Miller who scored. The former Man Utd player was mostly dissapointing when on loan here, but typically opened his Sunderland account against his ofmer team mates. IUt got worse just before half time when Graham Kavanagh drilled home to make it 2-0. A chorus of boos and chants for Blackwells head soon immediately followed.

At the break, Nicholls was handed his debut, replacing the ineffective Eddie Lewis, but within 2 minutes, the game was over, Stephen Elliot finishing well. Leeds managed to stop the visitors from scoring again, but only one team turned up this evening. With Chairman Ken Bates not known for his patience with managers, the axe seems to be inching nearer to Blackwells head. Many more performances like this one, and there will be no doubt whatsoever.
