Blackwell Sacked

Leeds have announced the sacking of Kevin Blackwell today. With Leeds sitting second bottom of the Championship, and crowds on Blackwells back, it is no great surprise that Chairman Ken Bates has swung the axe.

Bates flew back into Leeds today for a board meeting, and as a result it was decided to terminate Blackwell’s contract.

The manager can count himself a little unlucky having taken Leeds to the verge of the Premiership just 8 games ago, but at the end of the day, Leeds are in the results business, and the results haven’t been good enough. A host of names will be thrust into the frame to takeover, with Alan Curbishly and Dennis Wise the front runners, although Ranieri, Hoddle and even O’Leary have all been mentioned.
