Manager Latest - the wait goes on

Leeds don't seem any closer to naming a successor to Kevin Blackwell. Despite many names being linked, it's John Carver, the man in possesion who is currently the bookies favourite.

For the last two weeks, the bookies have changed their minds on an almost hourly basis, with the rumours spreading like wildfire accross the internet of an imminent appointment. Vialli, Gullit, Ranieri, Kerr, Wise,Hoddle, Carver, Curbishly and McAllister have all apparently been on the verge of being appointed as a flood of bets have sent their odds tumbling. Leeds were forced to release a statement this week, advising fans not to bet on the outcome and denying that any talks had taken place. This followed the rumour that Glen Hoddle was odds on to take up the reign, with some bookies slashing his odds to evens, following a string of big bets.

Although Leeds are denying any activity, it would be amazing if some level of talks haven't taken place behind the scenes. It would be hoped that a new manager announcement would be made sooner rather than later as the uncertainty is doing no good whatsoever - if Carver is to get the nod, let's do it now, and get on with it - if not Carver, this 2 week international break would seem an ideal time to line up the prospective candidates and see who is the best man for the job.
