Sullivan, Armando Sa, Crainey and Sam Hird have all been told that they are free to find a new club this summer as they are no longer part of Wise's plans. This trims Wise's squad no end as he continues to chop and change for a massive summer ahead .
Sullivan was signed by Leeds United[1] in June 2004. In his first season , he was voted as the club's Player of the Year. He slowly lost his 1st team spot after Blackwell was sacked and his demise under Wise is no surprise to Leeds fans.
Armando Sa joined Leeds United on loan from January 3rd 2007 until May 2007, with a view to a longer deal. Sa made his away debut as a substitute in Leeds' 3-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup. Injuries hampered any chances of him impressing Wise.
Crainey is a left back who has been capped at full and under-21 level by Scotland was signed from Southampton for £200,000 in August 2005, having joined them from boyhood favourites Celtic in 2003. This was Leeds United's first cash signing post-relegation. This also turned out to be a disastrous signing for Leeds as Crainey was out for his 1st season with an injury and the fans were shocked to come to terms with Crainey , when he finally made a comeback to the team. Often a scapegoat in Elland Road , Crainey showed his best abilities over the two legged playoffs semifinals over Preston in 2006.
Sam Hird is a Leeds United academy product , who is currently on loan at Doncaster. A centreback by trade , Hird would be looking to secure his services with Doncaster permanently .
The summer has barely started for Leeds United and going by the signs so far , this could prove to be the biggest pre-season in the club's history ! Bring on the new era.
