Huddersfield 1 - 0 Leeds

Huddersfield Town did the double over Leeds with a 1-0 victory in the West Yorkshire derby. Having been beaten 2-1 by 'Town back in November, Leeds were keen to set the record straight but were unable to come back after losing the lead in the first half. The absence of striker Jermaine Beckford was noticable after he was suspended for three games following an FA charge in mid-week.
Leeds hardly came to life in the first 45 minutes with only Robert Snodgrass impressing with his work down the flanks. The final ball could not be found and Huddersfield were creating more danger.
On 18 minutes, Ankergren spilled a ball he should hav
e dealt with and it was cleared for a corner. Huddersfield scored from the resulting crossed ball and Leeds were unable to recover.
In the second half, Leeds stepped up a gear although Huddersfield changed formation and sat further back to defend their lead. Robinson has a good header that was well saved and despite several efforts, Snodgrass could not find the target. Hughes picked up an injury and was replaced by Howson with Douglas dropping to right back and with just over 15 minutes to go, Mike Grella made his debut for the Whites but was unable to get involved in the game.
Leeds went closest in the final minutes when Nayor hit the post from a header but it just wasn't to be, and ultimately, they paid for a poor first half performance.

I don't think we have looked good for three months now - I don't blame Grayson, he is playing with other peoples players but overall we are a poor side and have been lucky with the wins we have secured.
It's his pace that has made the difference most of the times and that is what will decide between promotion and failure IMO . We seriously need players with Pace to hurt besides Beckford. Otherwise , we will never realize the full potential of our squad. This is my theory as I feel that whenever Beckford starts , our whole team gets this edge and thats mainly down to the fact that Beckford has something that can hurt the opposition any minute , his speed. We need at least one more player like that in our 11 and fill the rest with journeyman who give their all . I cant see many other ways out for this squad filled with limited yet relatively talented players who make a good supporting cast but needs a proper lead ( Beckford , Delph etc )
