Hereford V Leeds - Preview
By Rich Baggott
February 17 2009
Leeds travel to Hereford this evening for this re-arranged fixture that was cancelled earlier in the season on the back of the defeat at Huddersfield on Saturday. Simon Grayson will be forced to make at least one change due to the suspension of Jonathon Douglas with Andrew Hughes also a major doubt.
Leeds will remain without leading striker, Jermaine Beckford who is sitting out the second of his three match suspension for an elbow incident against the Millwall keeper that was caught on the Sky camera's. Grayson put Becchio up with loan
striker Trundle on Saturday but the partnership failed to spark to life and the manager may switch things around. American signing, Mike Grella came on for the final twenty minutes on Saturday and may be pushing for a start and Robert Snodgrass, who impressed on the wing could be pushed up front.
Grayson has a number of options to switch things round in midfield but is likely to stick with Howson who has been largely limited to substitute appearances of late. Prutton could also come into the reckoning alongside Bradley Johnson who can play a central roll as well as out wide.
In defence Frazer Richardson is still injured with a thigh strain and
Andrew Hughes is struggling following a knock in the Huddersfield game. It is also loan signing Carl Dickinson’s final game for Leeds before he returns to Stoke, unless a new deal can be arranged between the two clubs.Leeds beat Hereford 1-0 at home back in September when Leeds were flying high on the back of a five match winning streak but go into this game on indifferent form.
