Millwall 1 Leeds 0 - report

Sodje tackles Alexander

Leeds fell on Saturday to Neil Harris’ goal in the play off semi final first leg. The veteran Millwall striker came off the bench to leave this battle perfectly poised for Thursdays second leg at Elland Road.

Leeds never really clicked into gear, as some of their star men failed to deliver when it mattered.  They looked solid at the back, and only a rare error from Captain Naylor let in the home side.  However, as an attacking force, little was offered – Beckford looked off the pace, and Delph never got going – these two players will be vital if Leeds are to get to Wembley.

The game itself was a closely fought affair, with chances at a Premium – Harris’ clever flick forced a good save from Ankergren, whilst an early Beckford effort was probably the closest the visitors came. Leeds have won their last 11 at home, and a 12th win should see them through – certainly 36,000 fans out of a 37,000 sell out on Thursday will be hoping so…
