Leeds Reserves were looking to take their impressive pre seaon form into their opening game of the season at West Brom - We had a man at the game for this exclusive report.
won their first game of the season, beating West Brom 2-1 at the Hawthornes. My man at the game Steve said that Leeds were very impressive, especially in the first half. Simon Johnson opened the scoring, with a belter from outside the area in the first half, after skipping past a couple of challenges. Milner and Lennon both had half chances, whilst McMaster went close. The second goal was inevitable, and it was Barmby latching on to a cross to divert it home. After the brak, the Baggies came back into it, and a penalty, (which clearly wasn't, according to Steve) brought them back into it. It was much more evenly contested in the second half, but Leeds held on for a desrved win,.
