Reid Facing Axe? Surely not - comment

According to reports, the future of Peter Reid is being discussed today, as the banks and money men who control the club are apparently getting nervous after a poor start to the season.

If these stories are true, Leeds could be searching for their 4th manager in little over a year. Surely this is no way to run a football club. Peter Reid has been given just over a dozen games, and no money. If this is a yardstick for the future, what hope is there. Would the next manager be given the same number of games? If he achieves similar results to Reid, would he be out? The thing that our club needs is stability. The lat thing we need is to panic at the first sign of trouble. Peter Reid may not be everybody’s choice of manager, but he is making the best of a very difficult job. Who would replace him? Some fans are dreaming of top names, Martin O’Neil, Gordon Strachan etc, but why would any manager want the Leeds job at the moment. No cash to spend, and the threat of the axe after a handful of games. There is talk that Reid has 4 games to achieve some results, and even that Blackburn may be hos last game, or he could go thiw week. For those not aware, after Blackburn, we have Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd – no pressure then Pete!! To sack him now would be a disgrace, another knee jerk reaction form the powers that be who have no idea at all how to run a football club. It would also cost us somewhere in the region of £850,00 – money which we just don’t have. I’m not saying that Reid is the man to take us forward, or he should never get the boot, but give the guy a chance. Should Reid stay? Vote in the poll, and discuss on the message board
