Reid Ends Speculation

The national media has been in a frenzy over the past week with more off the field Stories relating to Leeds United, the latest that Manager Peter Reid was about to Quit.
Leeds manager, Peter Reid seems to have ended speculation that he may quit as Manager of the Premiership club following treatment by the Leeds board last week.
Peter Reid was publicly unhappy following a prolonged ‘Vote of Confidence’ by Leeds Chairman, Professor John McKenzie. On Saturday, Reid did not speak to the media after the Leeds/Blackburn game and certain comments by Assistant Manager Kevin Blackwell, speaking after the game, fuelled speculation the Reid was on the brink of quitting.
Reid has now confirmed that he is as committed to the Yorkshire club as ever. Speakking today in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Reid said "It was a great performance. I was proud of my players and the way they performed.
"They showed guts and desire and that is what we have been looking for.
"I have to say I thought David Batty was outstanding in midfield.
"He worked well with Jody Morris and that set us up for the win.
"We won the battle and earned the right to play football.
"Salomon Olembe also did well at left-back and Seth Johnson was great on the left-hand side of midfield.
"We created plenty of chances too which is something I was pleased about."
It would seem that Reid was pleased as well by the warm reception he received from the Leeds fans , who seem to have been vital over the past week at Elland Road, "The fans have been an inspiration to me," added Reid.
"They were magnificent again on Saturday and I can't thank them enough."
