Morris Faces Axe

Leeds midfielder, Jody Morris could face the axe from Leeds United irrespective of the outcome of the criminal investigation he is suject to at present.

Morris, 24, and his Solicitor attended a crisis meeting at Elland Road yesterday with Peter Reid, which was also attended by Leeds finance director Neil Robson, deputy chairman Allan Leighton and club lawyer Peter McCormick. As reported easrlier, Morris was suspended for 14 days whilst an internal enquiry could be carried out.

Leeds United are said to be unhappy at the reported drunken behaviour of the Leeds Player on Monday night in the Townhouse and this alone may constitute a breach of club rules. If Leeds feel his behaviour has rought the club into disripute, he could face a disciplinary hearing and be sacked without any pay off.

Leeds United are keen to avoid a repeat of the Woodgate/Bowyer incident and it is understood, players contracts now have additional clauses within them to cope with a situation like this.

Seth Johnson has also confirmed that he spoke to Police regarding the incident. Johnson denied any involvement and stated he was not in the car when the alledged incident occured. He stated he was happy to assist the police.
