Morris in Court, Smith charges set to be dropped

Contrasting news today for two Leeds Utd players. Jody Morris appeared in court this morning after been charged with rape last night, while Alan Smith seems set to have charges dropped after a bottle throwing incident.

Jody Morris has been released on conditional bail following an appearance in Leeds Crown Court this morning where he was charged with rape. Morris and another man are next due on court on the 17th December. The charges relate to an alleged rape on the 6th October following a night out in Leeds. Police have been viewing CCTV footage, and examining a lay be where the incident is said to have taken place. It is not known at the moment whether Morris will be available to caretaker manager Eddie Gray.

It is a different story though for Alan Smith, as it seems the case against him for throwing a bottle will be dropped. Althogh Smith could be clearly sent hrowing the bottle, no one was hurt, and no one complained. The police however decided there was a case to answer, and the Leeds forward was arrested. This led to him being dropped from the England squad, only hours after getting called up last week. Smith is suspended for Saturdays game against Bolton
