Not for the first time, today is another deadline day. With the press speculating at player departutres and ground sales, we look at what is liely to happen..
Firstly, we could go into administration. The deadline is midnight, and if there is no hope of some investment, the creditors may decide they won’t give us any longer, and admin beckons. Option 2 is a fortnight extension. This will be used if Trevor Birch believes that there is still some hope of agreeing a deal, but nothing is close. This will buy him time to either sell players or restructure payments to ex players and managers. The third option is an extension of just a couple of days. This weekend, talk has been of a previously unknown Yorkshire based consortium taking over in a £20 million deal. Rumours are that a deal is close to being finalised, and a couple of days should be enough to tie up the loose ends, and push it through.
