Leeds v Boro - team to face wall of silence?

Leeds fans are planning their own protest ahead of Saturdaysd game. Fans Forums on the internet have hit upon the idea of not cheering the team onto the pitch, or even turning their backs on them

Flyers will be given out beforehand, encouraging supporters to join in the silent protest. This is the Leeds fans way of showing that they have had enough of everything that has been thrown at them over the last year or two, from the players refusing to immediately accept a pay deferral, the performances, and the hopeless miss management of the club. The idea is to stay silent before kick off, then explode with noise for the full 90 minutes. Other fans are refusing to join in, and crank up the volume themselves to make up for it. Their argument is that the team and fans need to stick together at the moment, and a silent treatment won’t help us got the vital 3 points. Protests can come later – much will depend on whether the silent protesters get their point across to non internet fans before the game, but press and Radio Aire have picked up on the story, so expect a very muted welcome onto the pitch at 2.50…
