Parkin's Leeds takeover moves closer

It would seem that Steve Parkins long running bid to take over the Elland Road club, could at last be drawing to a succesful conclusion.

Most of the agreements are in place, and a deal could be announced anytime over the next few days. Parkin has a number of moneymen backing up his bid, and has spent the last few days looking over the clubs finances. He has put an offer to the board, and is believed to have enough funds in place to pay off Watford director Jack Petchey (who is owed £15 million), and have some left for team rebuilding. IF the deal is successful, there are rumours that Ian Dowie would be appointed manager, and a possibility that ex chief ex Trevor Birch could even be appointed Chairman. More when we have it…
