Alan Smith is very close to sealing an £8 million move to Manchester United. Ex Leeds player, current director Peter Lorimor has revealed that the deal is almost done.
and The fee would see a huge rise on the opening bid from Man U of £3.5 million, and the board have stuck to their guns, and held out for the right fee. Although several other clubs were interested, Smith has made it clear that he wanted to cross the Peninnes. The forward, who was idolised at Elland Road, will now face a furious backlash by the Leeds supporters, who will feel betrayed by a man who has previously claimed to be a complete Leeds fan, and stated that the one club he could never play for is Man Utd. There is no word yet if the fee will be a one off payment, or is the total amount if Man U win certain trophies. An announcement should be made sooner rather than later.
