Richmond Quits

Leeds director David Richmond has today resigned, citing personal reasons. Richmond was one of the members of the board who took over the club earlier this year, and the decision has come out of the blue.

In what has been a very trying couple of months for the club, this decision is seen by many as the first sign of a split in the camp, with regard to the direction that the club is been taken. In the past, Richmond has worked closely with chairman Gerald Krasner, and together they have been involved in disagreements with fellow directors, including Morris and Levi, most notably over the decision to accept an offer from spurs for James Milner, and the appointment of Kevin Blackwell as manager. Although Richmond has received a rough ride from some Leeds fans, due to his connections with Bradford City, it seemed he hade ridden out the storm, and was in for the long haul. What the repercussions his exit will be is anyone’s guess, but more uncertainty is the last thing the Leeds fans need.
