Leeds to sign Southampton defender

Leeds are close to announcing the capture of Southampton left back Stephen Crainey. The deal is almost complete, and Leeds are attempting to tie up the loose ends in time to allow the former Celtic player make his debut in tomorrow’s game.

It is said that a fee of around £200,000 has been agreed, and his would be the first transfer fee paid for 2 years, since the capture of Nick Barmby under Terry Venables’ management.
