Leeds face Nottingham Forest on Saturday in their second home game of the season. United are hoping to have new signing Matthew Spring in the squad as he has shaken off a hamstring injury.

If fully fit, Spring could go straight into centre midfield to replace the injured Lucas Radebe – 16 year old Simon Walton will start if Spring isn’t considered fit. At the back, Kevin Blackwell will have to make a change. Michael Duberry is suspended following his sending off against Wolves, so either Kilgallon or Clarke Carlisle will step in. Kilgallon performed well for the England under 21’s in midweek, whilst Carlisle did his chances no harm when impressing, and scoring for the reserves on Tuesday night. Also in action on Tuesday were trialists Guppy, Bart-Williams and Hignett, all of who wll have been hoping to do enough to extend their stay. 17 year old Aarron Lennon also played for half an hour as he gets back to fitness following an achillies injury. The winger/forward could have a big season this year, and Blackwell may be ready to put him on the bench…
