Leeds v Coventry - team news

Leeds go into Saturdays clash with Coventry nursing a few injuries. Stephen Crainey is out with a hamstring problem, whilst Clarke Carlise is doubtful with the same complaint.

Blackwell will have a choice at left back to make with either Kilgallon or Pugh filling the void. Kilgallon played there in the opening few games, but the manager may decide to move Pugh back, which would open up a midfield spot for new signing Branco.

Another player in contention for his first start is summer signing Matthew Spring. He is expected to go straight into central midfield to partner Jermaine Wright. Up front, Blackwell has further problems, with non of the three strikers finding the net as yet. The boss is hoping to tie up a deal for Stern John this week, although he could be lining up against us as Coventry have agreed a fee for the Birmingham forward. Also in the reckoning will be youngsters Jamie McMaster and Aaron Lennon – both of whom are pushing for their first start of the season.

Saturday will see the return of old boss Peter Reid. Reid helped to stave off relegation in his first season, and fought against extreme adversity in a battle he could never win in season 2. He always had kind words for the Leeds fans who are sure to give him a warm reception
