Derry set to sign

After failing to get his man in November, Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell looks set to buy the Crystal Palace midfielder on a 2 1/2 year deal.

Derry has been on loan at Nottingham Forest, but was recalled by Palace yesterday, and travelled to Leeds to discuss the deal. Derry is known by Blackwell from his time at Sheffield United, and the boss is looking to add some expirience to his young squad. It takes the number of central midfielders at Blackwells disposal to 9, with Gregan, Walton, Einarrson, Bakke, Pugh, Johnson, Wright, Spring and now Derry battling for 3 places, but it is this kind of competition that the manager is looking for.
