Leeds battled well against Ipswich on Saturday, as Kevin Blackwell rang the changes to have a look at his options for next season. In came Matthew Spring for only his 2nd start of the season, whilst Einarsson and Richardson got a run out.

It was a scrappy affair with the visitors having the best of the game. Ipswich needed a win to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive, whilst Leeds had little but pride to play for. To be fair, Leeds didn’t just go through the paces, and fought for every ball. The back four all impressed, especially the full backs, Gray and Kelly, who both had good games. The game exploded into life on 11 minutes, Kuqi dribbling through some half hearted tackles to score. Within a minute though, Leeds were level, Sprin heading home his first goal since his summer switch from Luton. The game ebbed and flowed, but neither keeper was over worked. After the break, Leeds came out strongly, but again, failed to create much, As the game wore on, Ipswich looked the likelier to grab a winner, and indeed should have, but Currie dragged wide when it looked easier to score. A draw was about a fair result, and Leeds boss Blackwell will be pleased with his sides endeaver. He is already looking at next season, and which positions need strengthening, but will be keen to try and tie up deals for Mickey Gray and Rob Hulse, both of who shone for United.
