Leeds v Ipswich - team news

Leeds go into Saturdays game with Ipswich in good form. Back to back wins at QPR and Rotherham in the carling Cup will have lifted confidence in the Leeds camp.

Blackwell may have a few selection posers ahead of the game. He gave some fringe players a run out at Rotherham, and a dew took the chance to impress. Up front, David Healy is suspended, and the natural choice to replace him would have been Robbie Blake. However, the former Birmingham and Burnley forward picked up a knock, and Richard Creswell grabbed the opportunity to impress in the Cup game, and his two goals, and strong all round performance, seem certain to get him the nod to partner Hulse. In midfield, Blackwell will recall Derry and Lewis, with Douglas and Einarsson favourites to make up the quartet. However, Frazer Richardson did well at right back, and will be pushing for the right side of midfield. Ian Moore also impressed in his first outing of the season, whilst if Blake shakes of his injury, he was also go into the mix. At the back, Kelly will be recalled at right back, whilst Butler should come in to take the place of Matthew Kilgallon. Kila did well at the back though, and is pushing for a starting role. Gregan and Butler will have to be at the top of their game or the young centre back will edge one out. Competition for places is exactly what Blackwell has tried to achieve, and every man knows he has to perform or he’ll be out…
