Leeds Bolster squad for run in

As Leeds look to turn the screw on Sheffield United, the news from Elland Road is that the squad is getting stronger as reetuning loans, new signings and injuries resolve themselves towards the run in.

At a time of the year that injuries and suspensions are casuing headaches and concerns for most clubs, Kevin Blackwell can feel secure in the knowledge that the problems are easing at Elland Road.

Steve Stone, one of the most exciting signings over the summer has yet to kick a ball in the league for Leeds but news following a third operation is promising and the experienced midfielder could make an appearance in a white shirt towards the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Australian signing Joel Griffiths is hoping to finally play in a competative match for the first time since signing for Leeds three weeks ago - his international clearance has been held up by Swiss side Neuchatel Xamax but the FA and FIFA have become involved int he affair and the matter is expected to be resolved later today. Griffiths could feature in the reserves match on Wednesday agaisnt Wigan.

Striker, or is that winger, David Healy has revealed that his foot injury has been confirmed as serious bruising and no bones are broken. Healy should be fit to play next Tuesday and serves a susspension in the meantime - he has resumed light training today.

With Kilgallon making good prgress and the re-introduction of Erik Bakke to the side, Leeds United have a strong squad to push for the 2nd spot and automatic promotion.
