Kevin Blackwell signs three year deal

Leeds Manager has today signed a three year extension to his existing deal. The deal will see him stay at Elland Road until May 2009.

Leeds United Manager, Kevin Blackwell has today signed a three year extension to his existing contract to stay with Leeds until 2009.

Blackwell, who joined from league rivals, Sheffield United in 2003 under the management of Peter Reid took over the reigns as Manager in May 2004 but his current contract was due to expire at the end of the season. The three year deal, signed on Chairmans' Bates private yacht in Monaco has come out of the blue with most people expecting a deal to be announced at the end of the season.

Blackwell has developed a solid squad that could see itself promoted in only his second year in charge and Chairman, Ken Bates as repaid that level of performance with the extended deal.
