Blackwell pens new contract

Leeds manager has today signed a 3 year deal to keep him at the club until 2009. With his current contract due to expire in the summer, and a host of clubs sniffing around, Ken Bates has ensured that Blackwell is staying put.

Blackwell himself was only to keen to commit to the club, stating that it was the only place he wanted to be, whilst Bates has been impressed with the run of form that has taken us to 3rd place. The security of the manager is a great bit of news for the club, and Blackwell can now start planning ahead knowing that he will be at the helm.
