Preston v Leeds - COME ON LEEDS

Leeds are almost within touching distance of the play off final - despite Billy Davies seeming to think the hard work is done.....

For Leeds, it’s the biggest game in 5 years – a return to the promised land is almost within touching distance. It’s down to knockout football now – 2 teams desperate to get to Cardiff in less than two weeks, to probably face Watford.
Leeds need every player to be fully up to the challenge. This game (and hopefully the next) could be the defining point in the future of Leeds United. If we lose, some of the players will be wearing the white shirt for the last time as Kevin Blackwell will look to freshen up the squad – let’s not think about losing though – everything must be positive.
Blackwell has some decisions to make, with Sean Derry carrying a calf strain. Derry is vital to the team, and he’ll be given every chance to be fit. Up front, Robbie Blake is knocking at the door to replace David Healy, and in my opinion should get the call. Unfortunately it’s unlikely that Richard Cresswell will be fit enough to start, as Hulse is still not firing on all cylinders. Cressy though is certainly a good option to come from the bench. Steve Stone is also battling for a starting slot, and could come into contention to replace Bakke, who wasn’t too impressed to be substituted on Friday.

Preston are a dangerous side, with some good players, but Leeds may have the edge. Several of their players seem to think the hard part is done, and Billy Davies’ celebration as though he had won the Final may be a little premature….
