Countdown to Cardiff-Watford Player info

The countdown to Cardiff countinues. With Watford winning last night, we know our opponents - but who are their players? With thanks to 'Inayellowshirt' from Watofrds 'Gloryhorns' website, here is who we are up against.

Ben Foster - Goalkeeper - Season loan from Man U. A huge goalkeeper, with a fantastic kick. A nervy start to the season, but on serious form at the moment. A Future England keeper.

Lloyd Doyley - Right Back - From youth scheme. Very much under rated by some, till you find your left mid in his pocket all game.

Jay Demerit – Centre Back – Signed from Northwood. American, should be in World Cup squad. The step up from non-league taken very easily.

Malky Mackey – Centre Back – Signed from West Ham – Hugely experienced centre back. A man mountain, solid as a rock, bit slow though.

Clarke Carlisle – Centre Back – Signed from Leeds – Solid player, nudged out of squad by Demerit, coming back from hip injury. Doubts as to whether he can play against you due to contract.

Jordan Stewart – Left Back – Signed from Leicester – Viewed as the weak link, became favourite boo boy after error given displays. Has been fantastic last few weeks though, better attacking than defending.

Gavin Mahon – Def Midfield – Signed from Brentford – Solid in the tackle, breaking up oppositions attacks.

Matthew Spring – Attacking Midfield - Signed from Leeds – Ex Luton player, but turned around potential grief from fans with great displays and goals. Can play in final.

Al Bangura – Def Midfield – From Sierra Leone – Only 17, but tackles like an old pro, guaranteed to get his boot in on a tackle.

Ashley Young – Attacking Midfield/forward – Youth scheme, highly rated with good pace and a great right foot. Free kick specialist.

Chris Eagles – Attacking Midfield – On loan from Man Utd – Fast, with quick feet. Has now added good tracking back to his game, scored from half way line against Brighton.

Anthony MacNamee – Attacking Midfield – Youth Scheme – Tiny, with very VERY quick feet and great control. Can swing in a cross against all the odds.

Darius Henderson – Forward – Signed from Gillingham – Big strong traditional style centre forward. Very aggressive, gives away too many free kicks though.

Marlon King – Forward – Signed from Forest – Championship Golden Boot, in PFA Team , Player of the Year says it all. Scorer of unbelievable goals. A real handful.

Alec Chamberlain – Goalkeeper – A Watford Legend, Mr Reliable.
