Preston agree Lewis fee

Preston have agreed a fee with Fulham for midfielder Eddie Lewis.

Lewis impressed many with his performances in the World Cup with the US. Among his new fans is Preston boss Craig Brown who is keen to bring the midfielder to Deepdale.

Lewis will now hold talks with Brown but chairman Derek Shaw is keen to avoid another Sean Gregan transfer where the deal was done through the media almost. "I don't want this to be a saga running every day in the papers," Shaw told the Lancashire Evening Post.

"We still have an interest in Lewis, although there is no further news to report."
