Results round up from Wednesday 14th August 2002 as Leicester go top of the table on goal difference.

Leicester City went top of the table last night after their 1-0 win over Stoke City at The Brittania Stadium.

Former Ipswich striker James Scowcroft scored the only goal after 6 minutes from a Nicky Summerbee cross to send the Foxes into first place over Gillingham on goal difference.

Nottm Forest and Preston fought out a 2-2 draw at The City Ground. Preston took the lead through Ricardo Fuller before Dickson Etuhu doubled the lead. David Johnson grabbed one back for Forest leaving substitute Eion Jess to complete the comeback with 8 minutes to go.

In the evenings other game Wolves beat Walsall 3-1 at Molineux. Colin Cameron scored twice before Herivelto pulled one back. But as The Saddlers pushed forward for the equaliser Shaun Newton scored to secure Wolves' won the bragging rights.
