Cotterill praises Leicester

Stoke boss Steve Cotterill has praised Leicester City and tipped them for a good season after they beat his Stoke team to go top of the table.

James Scowcroft's early goal was enought to beat Cotterill's men but the former Cheltenham boss was impressed with The Foxes. "We weren't quite good enough. They are a quality side and I always knew it was going to be tough."

Cotterill also feels that the three relegated Premiership teams will be near the top come the end of the season. "All the teams who have come down from the Premiership are going to be there or thereabouts.

"It is a pity we have to play two of them in the first month."

Cotterill also praised his own players for their performances since arriving in Division 1. "Our work ethic has been terrific and we will get fitter and better.

"My players could not possibly have given me any more than they have in the first two games."
