Preston ask Motherwell to name their price

Preston boss Craig Brown has told Motherwell to name their price for highly rated youngster James McFadden.

Last week Preston had an offer of £200,000 rejected by the Scottish club but Brown is keen to get his man and told the clubs official site that he has told Motherwell to name their price. "We received notification by fax that they had turned down our original offer so I have sent Motherwell a fax back asking them how much they would be prepared to accept to let him go.

"He is a fantastic talent and one who would fit in very well here at Deepdale."
