Redkanpp wins manager award

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has won the Manager of the Month award for August.

Redkanpp's Portsmouth team have remained unbeaten this season with 5 wins and a single draw, totalling an impressive 16 points from a possible 18. That figure leaves Pompey at the top of the table.

Since arriving at Fratton Park in the summer Redkanpp has almost signed a new team, bringing in quality players like Matt Taylor, Shaka Hislop, Deon Burton and of course the classy Paul Merson.

Wally Downes of Brentford takes the 2nd Division award whilst York's Terry Dolan takes the honours in the third.
