Reading try for Upson

Reading are trying to sign Arsenal defender Matthew Upson on loan.

Upson is currently returning from injury and it is believed that Arsenal are keen to loan him out to regain fitness.

The 23-year-old was signed from Luton in 1997 for £2million having made just one substiute apperance for The Hatters.

At Arsenal he was capped by England U-21's and touted as a natural replacement for the retired Tony Adams.
