Ekoku released by Owls

Sheffield Wednesday have released striker Efan Ekoku from his contract.

The striker has agreed a financial pay-off with the club which will now allow the former Nigerian international to try and find another club closer to his home in the South.

Ekoku struggled to make a major impact in the Steel City depite scoring his first goals for the club against local rivals Sheffield United.
