Koumas snubs Baggies

Jason Koumas has snubbed West Brom after the move was thought to sealed. This comes just 24 hours after Kevin Cooper snubbed the Baggies.

Koumas turned down the move after he felt the move wasn't right for him. Speculation is that he has another move in the fire but the Welsh star claims he wants to stay with Tranmere till the summer. Keeping along the lines of snubs, Wolves target Silas has revealed that he has his heart set on a move to Portuguese giants FC Porto. The 25 year old revealed that if Porto offer similar or better terms than Wolves he'd join them in a heartbeat. Barnsley have signed Kevin Betsy from Fulham for an undisclosed fee. Betsy impressed Tykes boss Steve Parkin during a a month loan spell. Barnsley have also parted company with from Tranmere man, Lee Jones. This follows yesterdays release of Eric Tinkler. Sheffield Wednesday are persuing Aussie scoring senstation Royce Brownlie from Marconi Stallions. The Aussie has been in fine form for his club side but Stallions boss Lee Sterrey is relecutant to let the striker go as Marconi are still in the play-off race down under. Meanwhile Wendesday's former England international, Andy Hinchcliffe has announced his retirement from football. Hinchcliffe has been troubled by a knee injury. In his statement announcing his decision, the 33 year old thanked the club, staff and fans for sticking by him. Grimsby Town are set to sign Willie Falconer till the end of the season as part of boss, Paul Groves plans to strenghten his front line. Falconer scored in todays reserve game against Walsall. Also on trial was Arsenal youngster Carlin Itonga and former Charlton and Wimbledon target man Carl Leaburn. Grimsby won the game 2-1. Rotherham have signed keeper Ryan Esson on loan from Aberdeen till the end of the seaosn. The 22 year old has been kept out of first team action by Peter Kjaer. |
