Stewart Houston has left Walsall has first-team coach after his one month contract expired.

Houston was brought in last month by manager Colin Lee who opted to not extend the deal.

Houston was cleary disappointed at the decision but stated that he enjoyed his time at the Midlands club. "Unfortunately, the arrangement was only for a month and I would have preferred a bit longer to make more of an impact.

"I have enjoyed working with Colin and they are a smashing bunch of lads at Walsall."

Lee thanked Houston for his work at the club. "Stewart joined the club on a short-term basis to help me through the early weeks of the season.

"I am grateful for his hard work and meticulous planning during his time with us.

"However, I appreciate that Stewart wants to seek a more permanent arrangement with a club and I wish him every success for the future.
